"Is your mama a lawyer?" I asked my friend Duane.
"No she is not!" is what Duane exclaimed. "My mom's home at night and during some of the days. I do not think that's how a lawyer behaves. "
"Yes, you are right", is all I could say. "Your mom's not a lawyer if she's home during the day."
~~~~~
"Is your mama a lawyer?" I asked my friend Donna.
"I really don't think so" is how Donna responded "My mom cooks me dinner and feeds me at night. For a lawyer to do that just doesn't seem right".
"Well", I thought, "that is certainly true. Your mom's not a lawyer if she's cooking for you."
~~~~~
"Is your mama a lawyer?" I asked my friend Ted.
"I'd have to say, no" is what Teddy said "I don't have a nanny and I spend time with my mom. That just can't be how a lawyer carries on."
I thought to myself, "That's right on the spot! Your mom's not a lawyer if she's with you a lot."
~~~~~~
Is your mama a lawyer?" I asked my friend Jim
"Oh heavens no", Jim said with a grin. "My mom takes me swimming, to classes and the park. I don't think that lawyers get home until dark"
"Yes, yes" I said "That is correct. Your mom's not a lawyer, I'd be willing to bet."
"Is your mama a lawyer?" I asked my friend Ty
"Why of course she is, Max." Ty said with a sigh.
"My mom's gone all day and sometimes at night. She never lets her blackberry out of her sight."
"She's a bundle of nerves even when she's at home and she spends much of her time at her computer alone."
"I know how you feel." I said to my friend. "My mama's a lawyer and her work never ends"
"She's tired at night when she takes care of me and she complains all the time that she's just too busy."
"She loves me a lot, but she's always away. She wishes there were more than twenty-four hours in a day."
But my mom is what she is, and for now she can't bend. My mama's a lawyer, and this is THE END.
